King of Props: All-purpose back, all-weather attack

This Wild Card Weekend holds a unique distinction because each of the six games is a rematch from the regular season. As familiar foes in the NFC West, the 49ers and Seahawks have already played each other twice, with San Francisco winning both games comfortably. Today’s third matchup will be contested in the rain and wind of Santa Clara, and we’re expecting a reliable ballcarrier to deliver our top prop:

The bet: Over 113½ rushing and receiving yards for 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey (FanDuel)

Traded from the Panthers before Week 7, McCaffrey has been a perfect fit in Kyle Shanahan’s creative offense. He accumulated 138 yards on a season-high 32 touches when these teams met a month ago — and now Seattle must try to contain him without leading tackler Jordyn Brooks.

Prior to last week’s demolition of the Cardinals, which saw backup Elijah Mitchell getting a lot of second-half work, McCaffrey had cleared this number in four of the previous five games. He topped the century mark on the ground three times and compensated for a 66-yard rushing day against the Dolphins by catching eight passes for 80 yards.

McCaffrey’s only playoff experience to date came in a loss to the Saints following his 2017 rookie season. Although his team trailed throughout, he posted 101 receiving yards and turned a short pass into a 56-yard touchdown to make the final score respectable.

On the ground or through the air, in good conditions or bad, McCaffrey remains a productive back with an explosive knack.
