Clippers to Sign Xavier Moon to Two-Way Deal
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Clippers intend to sign guard Xavier Moon to a two-way contract, filling the role previously held by wing Joshua Primo, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Primo is being promoted to a standard deal, as we relayed here.

Moon, 28, is 6-foot-2 and no stranger to the Clippers organization. He first signed a 10-day contract with the team in December 2021, before signing two more in that same season. Los Angeles signed him to a standard deal in April 2022.

Last season, Moon was back on the roster, receiving a two-way contract from the Clippers in March. He then signed a training camp deal in September, only to be waived just before the start of the season.

Overall, he’s appeared in 14 games with the Clippers, averaging 4.6 points and 2.1 assists in 11.2 minutes per game.

Most of his time has been spent with the Ontario Clippers of the G League, where he averaged 20.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 5.5 assists last season. Moon is the nephew of former NBA forward Jamario Moon.

The Clippers are set to begin their run with James Harden, acquired in a blockbuster trade with the 76ers last week.
